What a way to kick off the 2025 wedding season! My first celebration of the year took me to the stunning Blencowe Hall, nestled on the edge of the breathtaking Lake District, and it was truly something special.
Imagine this: a couple, Alice and Andrew, travelled all the way from Australia to say their vows in this idyllic English setting. But the dedication didn’t stop there! Every single one of their guests also made the same journey from down under to witness them make their commitment to each other.
Blencowe Hall itself is a fabulous venue. Its historic charm and picturesque surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for Alice and Andrew’s big day. This is a venue with a big impact!
I’d chatted with Alice before they left Australia and she’d told me they were really hoping to have an outdoor ceremony. I’d thought then that they’d need to be very lucky to do that. After all we are talking March in Cumbria. We’d had snow only a couple of weeks earlier! But let’s just say that Alice and Andrew are indeed very, very lucky. The weather was amazing and they had their dream outdoor ceremony.
Adding an extra layer of personal touch to the ceremony, Alice’s brother had the honour of being their celebrant. How wonderful to have a close family member play such a significant role in their union!
For Alice and Andrew’s portraits we popped up the road to the centre of the village where there is a lovely stream with stepping stones and woodland. The sun low in the sky treated us to amazing light in this picture perfect location. We then popped back to Blencowe Hall for more photos in the grounds and using the Hall itself as a backdrop.
This wedding was a beautiful reminder of the power of love and the lengths people will go to celebrate it. Alice and Andrew, thank you for choosing Blencowe Hall and for allowing me to be a part of your incredible day. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together, all the way back in Australia!
