Day 2 of Niroosha and Matthew’s celebrations was their Mayfair and Knightsbridge wedding. The ceremony itself took place at Farm Street Church in the heart of London’s Mayfair. This was followed by the reception at the very fabulous The Berkeley in Knightsbridge.
I was again joined by my colleague Gemma, just as I was for day 1 of their celebrations. Having a second photographer along for the day allowed us to fully cover both Niroosha’s and Matthew’s preparations. It also meant that during the wedding ceremony itself we could unobtrusively photograph from the front, rear and organ loft of the stunning church. Additionally whilst I was taking the couple portraits Gemma remained with the guests for increased coverage of the drinks reception.
I love capturing the real moments that happen during wedding days and this one had a lot! There are just too many to list here but my favourites included Niroosha’s bridesmaids seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress (yes, there were tears), the confetti storm outside The Berkeley as Niroosha and Matthew arrived (so many smiles) and the moment in the best man’s speech when he threw away the cue cards apparently supplied by Matthew (to an awful lot to laughter).
Gemma and I so enjoyed photographing these two special days. I’m now really looking forward to meeting up with Niroosha and Matthew again very soon to pick the images and options for their gorgeous wedding album.
