Charlotte and Pete’s St Aldates wedding took place back in July. The day began with Charlotte getting ready at the Oxford Spires Hotel. It was all very relaxed and really set the tone for the whole day. The ceremony was filled with some of the most enthusiastic and joyful singing I’ve ever heard at a wedding and you could really feel how very happy all of the guests were that Charlotte and Pete were getting married.
Both the wedding ceremony and the reception took place in St Aldate’s church in Oxford’s city centre with a break between the two for a drink and cake reception just over the road in The Story Museum. During the drink and cake reception Charlotte, Pete and I headed off for their wedding portraits. We did most of these in the grounds of Brasenose College where they had both studied and first met. We also used areas just outside of the college, there are so many great spots in the city centre with great, iconic backdrops for stunning wedding images.
Following the wedding breakfast, there was a ceilidh for the evening party. I do like a ceilidh at a wedding as they always offer so much fun dancing for me photograph. All to soon though it was time for Charlotte and Pete to make their grand departure. They’d saved the confetti for this and had listened to my suggestion that you really can’t have too much confetti. A storm of the stuff really makes for great images!
