Jade and Russ’s Lake District wedding made a wonderful start to my 2020 wedding season. They had chosen to have an elopement wedding, keeping their plans secret from friends and family. With no guests for the ceremony at the wonderful Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel this really was an intimate day.
As a winter wedding in the Lake District it was hardly surprising that I arrived at the venue in heavy rain. Lake Windermere and the surrounding mountains were barely visible through the low cloud. I joined Jade and Russ as they relaxed prior to the ceremony, recording the build up without interference or direction. In fact the only posed shots during the whole of my time with them were the portraits after the ceremony. Very luckily for us there was a break in the rain and the cloud lifted when it was time for those. So Jade and Russ braved the bitterly cold wind for some portraits with that stunning Lake District backdrop.
