Zoe and Mike’s Notley Abbey wedding was my only outdoor ceremony of 2015. We’d all been keeping our fingers crossed for the weather in the lead up to the wedding. The day started with drizzle, which increased to significant rainfall on my journey to Notley. Fortunately the sky started to brighten just as I arrived. By the time I’d finished photographing Zoe’s preparations and left to meet up with Mike and his best man for some pre ceremony portraits the sun was out and the sky was blue!
Zoe and Mike had planned a very relaxed schedule for the day. As well as giving them plenty of time to mingle with all of their guests, it also allowed us to really make the most of the many great spots around Notley’s grounds for the couple portraits. We split those into two sessions so as not to keep them away from their guests for too long.
As well as the outdoor ceremony itself, my highlights of the day were the very busy dance floor and the spectacular firework display that brought my day at Notley to a close.
