With the temperature exceeding 30˚C, this was certainly my hottest wedding of the year and I think you’ll have to agree it is was also my most colourful! This fabulous Hindu wedding took place at Poundon House in Oxfordshire in July.
I was joined by my friend and skilled photographer Darren Bedding as the 2nd photographer for the day. Due to the size of the wedding, having Darren along meant we wouldn’t miss any of the action, especially with the separate bride and groom rituals prior to the ceremony.
With such beautiful weather it was just perfect that the ceremony was held outside, with the mandap erected under the awning at the rear of the house. The ceremony itself was 2 hours long and had to have a half time break to allow everyone to rehydrate due to the extreme heat. At the end, the bride’s cousins managed to steal the groom’s shoes. They were then held to ransom, causing great amusement and costing the groom rather a lot of money!
After a break and chance to enjoy the beautiful Poundon gardens, everyone moved over to the marquee for the meal, speeches and dancing.
See their engagement shoot photos here.
If you’re getting married at Poundon House and would like an unobtrusive documentary style wedding photographer, then please do get in touch. I love working at Poundon and would really like to hear all about your plans.
