Notley Abbey is a truly stunning venue with beautifully landscaped riverside gardens. The opportunities here for creating a stunning set of wedding photographs are almost endless. The venue also boasts it’s own custom vintage Bentley, available for photographs on the big day.
This manor house is steeped in history and is formerly the home of Lawrence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. Some of the most famous people of that era stayed at Notley, including Marilyn Monroe. Further back in history it has also played host to historical figures including Henry V and Henry VIII.
Olivier said, “Of all the houses I’ve lived in over the years, Notley is my favourite. It was absolutely enchanting, and it enchanted me. At Notley I had an affair with the past. For me it had mesmeric power; I could easily drown in its atmosphere. I could not leave it alone, I was a child lost in its history. Perhaps I loved it too much, if that is possible.”
As with all of Bijou Weddings’ venues, the staff there are always so helpful and do everything they can to ensure the day runs smoothly. It’s certainly a delight to photograph weddings here.
If you’re planning to get married at Notley Abbey and are looking for an unobtrusive documentary wedding photographer, then please do get in touch, I’d really love to hear about your plans.
