Laura and Hope’s Low House wedding took place in May and was my first Cumbrian wedding of 2021. Low House in Armathwaite is such a stunning venue, set in fabulous grounds with so many great backdrops for the photos.
Laura and Hope were very lucky with the weather. It was very warm and the sun shone all day. So they were able to go-ahead with their plans for an outdoor ceremony.
This wedding was the first I’d photographed since the rules for recording marriages changed to an electronic registry. This means couples no longer sign the register book and instead sign a Marriage Schedule form. The big difference this makes for photographers is that previously registrars would bar photos being taken of the signing for fear of other couples’ personal details from the book being recorded. As the Marriage Schedule form doesn’t contain any other couples’ details then this photography restriction no longer applies.
Following the ceremony we made good use of the grounds for Laura and Hope’s portraits. There’s such a lovely variety of locations available at Low House.
I’m really looking forward to being back at Low House again in just a few weeks for my next wedding there.
