Sophie and Steve’s Great Fosters wedding took place in August. The weather was very changeable throughout the day, bright sun one moment and then a heavy rain shower the next. Fortunately they had a very relaxed schedule and Great Fosters has lovely spots for photographs both inside and out.
After a few scene setting venue photos I joined Sophie and the girls to record their preparations. Steve wasn’t getting ready at Great Fosters, so I had arranged to meet up with him when he arrived for relaxed photos of him and the guys. I then shared my time between bride and groom prior to the ceremony. Following the ceremony, bubbles made a great confetti substitute as Sophie and Steve made their exit from The Orangery. As it wasn’t raining we went straight into group photos in the courtyard. We did then attempt to start on the couple portraits but the rain began again almost straight away, so it gave a chance for Sophie and Steve to return to mingle with their guests. From then on we just spread out the portraits into a number of mini sessions using indoor or covered locations while wet and making the most of Great Fosters fabulous grounds when the sun came out.
The evening came to an end for me with sparklers on the patio which made a great closing photo for the story of Sophie and Steve’s wedding day.
I regularly photograph weddings at Great Fosters and love working there. With fabulous rooms and grounds it’s a photographer’s dream venue! If you’re getting married there and love my style of photography then do get in touch.
