Clare and Chris’s sophisticated and intimate Poundon House wedding took place on a beautiful spring day. As soon as I arrived and saw the house looking so stunning in the sun with the daffodils lining the driveway, I just knew it was going to be a great day.
With less than 30 guests, this was one of the smallest weddings I have photographed. I love small weddings. There seems a stronger connection between the couple and the guests throughout the day. As the photographer it means that for much of the time I can be observing most, if not all of those present, continuously looking out for all of those moments and emotions that need to be recorded. An extra challenge though is remaining unobtrusive. I wouldn’t want the guests to feel that their every move is being photographed or becoming self conscious because of my presence. Having a camera with a silent shutter mode is a big help too at smaller weddings, especially during the ceremony where no click-click from the camera would go unnoticed.
Even though I regularly photograph weddings at Poundon, this was my first one there to have the wedding breakfast in the dining room. It certainly makes an impressive and perfect location for a smaller gathering such as this one.
I hope you like my selection of photos from the day, I certainly enjoyed photographing this one!
