Sarah and Mark got married in the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Beaconsfield and then had their reception at The Tudor Barn in Burnham.
Sarah got ready at her parents’ house, just up the road from the church. So that was where I met up with her on the morning of the big day to record the preparations and get some shots of her lovely dress, shoes and flowers.
My good friend and talented wedding photographer Pete Henderson joined me as the second photographer for the day. Having another photographer along really extends the photographic coverage we can provide, especially when the bride and groom are getting ready at different locations. So in this case Pete was able to meet up with Mark and the groomsmen well before the service to get some relaxed shots before things started getting busy.
Sarah and Mark wrote their own prayers, which made a very special and personal end to their marriage service. After a handful of group photos at the church, it was on to The Tudor Barn in Burnham for the reception.
The speeches had everybody in fits of laughter and included Mark being presented with a ball and chain and playing the bagpipes. During his speech the father of bride asked all of Mark’s former partners to return their front door keys to Mark, and suddenly a long line including one of the groomsmen were queued at the top table to hand them back!
After the wedding breakfast Pete took charge of the photobooth which provided some entertainment for the guests, along with the music provided from the singer/guitar player. He proved very popular, particularly when he was joined by one of the guests for a very impressive impromptu performance of The Zutons’ Valerie. It was so good that cake cutting and first dance were delayed by around 30 minutes as nobody could tear themselves away.
